    Serving the Community

Founded in 1993, The Eye Research Foundation (ERF)  is dedicated to preserving and improving the vision of
patients throughout the Treasure Coast.
The mission of the Eye Research Foundation is to improve the quality of
patients’ lives and vision  through the development of new methods to better diagnose and treat eye disease.
As Stuart's ONLY charitable organization dedicated solely to the research of eye disease, ERF serves the community
as 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt charitable foundation dedicated exclusively to the advancement of science in ophthalmology. We offer a variety of community lectures, free eye disease screenings, and eye disease resources for groups and individuals throughout the Treasure Coast, spanning from Vero Beach to Jupiter.

Our team of doctors provides insight and expertise on various topics, including:

Seeing Well as You Grow Older

The latest treatments for conditions, including: Dry and Wet Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataracts, and Dry Eye Disease.

Ground Breaking Clinical Research for eye disease.

ERF works to reduce blindness through a resilient commitment to research and a dedication to the advancing management of ophthalmic disease. Our research allows us to identify methods of better diagnose and treat disease at earlier stages, thereby improving patients' likelihood for achieving lifelong healthy vision. Our work spans over an array of ocular diseases that include, but are not limited to: macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, retinal vascular occlusive disease, and dry eye disease. Community outreach makes up the balance of our overall activities, which results in improved ocular and systemic health.

Community Outreach

Free Screenings

We provide free eye disease screenings for anyone in the community concerned about their eye health. Your eye health history will be obtained and you will meet with one of our doctors for a one on one consultation. We screen for Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy and Dry Eye Disease.

Support Groups

Our Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Diabetes of the Eye and Dry Eye Disease support groups enable people from the local community the opportunity to meet with others who are coping with the same daily struggles caused by their eye disease. Come share your tips and ideas, concerns and encouragement.

Lectures

We offer a free Lecture Series, held at community libraries where our doctors speak to attendees about the latest advances in the treatment of Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma and Diabetic Eye Disease.  Attend one of our lectures and you'll see why folks in our community say that our doctors are knowledgeable, approachable and experienced.

Health Fairs

Throughout the Treasure Coast Community you are likely to see us at local events and health fairs. Our staff provide screenings for Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Visual Health. We believe that everyone should have access to quality healthcare and make efforts to “bring it to our local community”, even if they can’t come to us. So stop by our booth at the next local health fair and say hi to our doctors and staff!

"We are working diligently to put an end to vision loss from eye disease
